Elwood Public Library Youth Programs

 

Toddler Time- Children ages 18 months- 3.5 years old and an adult helper!

This class is offered every Thursday from 11:00-11:30 AM. It is a structured class and focuses on a more disciplined learning style. The children will participate in activity time, singing time, story time and craft time each week.

Story Time- Children ages 3.5 to 5

This class is offered every Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. It focuses on early educational themes. During the course of the year we will learn to identify each letter of the alphabet. Each week we will enjoy coloring, activities, stories, crafts and snacks.

Twilight Tales- Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade

This class is offered every Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Each week the class will have a theme based lesson that involves a story as well as projects. This class works on developing the child’s ability to follow instructions, as well as smaller motor skills.

Teen Hang Out Hour- Young adults 6 to 12th grade

This group meets the every Tuesday of the month from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. At each meeting we will either create an art project, do an activity, or play a game.

Coloring, Crafts, & Creations

Come in to Elwood Public Library every second Saturday of the month, any time between 11 AM – 3 PM, to enjoy some adult crafting fun!  There will also be a coloring activity for children in Youth Services at this time.

One on one computer classes will be held weekly on Wednesday from 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM at each branch.  Please call the Elwood branches’ Adult Services Desk to schedule an appointment.

Mystery Book Club

This club meets the second Monday of each month 1:00-2:00 PM.  We invite you to check out the current month’s mystery book and join us to talk about it.

Science Fiction Book Club

This club meets every 3rd Saturday of the month, from 1pm – 2pm.

Watercolor Painting Class

Artist Jan Roland gives painting classes every 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00-3:00 PM.  There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of supplies. Call the Elwood library  to sign up.

 Family History Uncovered

For anyone who ever wanted to know their family history – join Jordan Arehart and Jamie Scott at the Elwood Public Library every 3rd Thursday of the month, from 6-8pm.  Those attending will be introduced to several resources available at the library and online to help them discover their family’s history. Make plans to come and discover your past!

The Write Idea

If you love to write or are just curious about writing, join us at the Elwood Public Library for The Write Idea, our creative writing class. This awesome and fun class is led by Mary Hofer and is full of great instruction, fresh writing ideas, and lots of encouragement. We welcome you to visit and if you enjoy it, join us! We meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 3pm.

 

Community Parkview Care Center
