Elwood Public Library Youth Programs
Story Time & Toddler Time- Children ages 18 months- 5 years old
This class is for ages 18 months – 5 yrs (not yet in Kindergarten). We meet most Tuesdays, from 1:00pm – 2:00pm. This class mainly focuses on early educational themes. During the course of the year we will learn about many different things in our world, such as seasons, animals, and our bodies. There will also be songs, stories, and crafts to enjoy each week.
Twilight Tales- Kids in kindergarten through 5th grade
This class is offered for kids ages Kindergarten – 5th grade; meeting most Wednesdays from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Twilight Tales is full of hands on fun with lots crafts and activities! This class works on developing the child’s ability to follow instructions, getting along as a group, and social skills. *The first Wednesday of every month, this class will be cooking simple recipes that the kids can replicate at home.
Teen Hang Out Hour- Young adults 6 to 12th grade
This group meets most Friday’s from 4:00 – 5:00 PM. Teens will meet to socialize, do crafts, and play games! Come check it out and give input on what you’d like to do!
Kids in the Kitchen – Kids & Teens
Every month, we will have 2 Kids in the Kitchen programs for kids and teens where we will learn how to make a different recipe and eat our delicious creations.

Talk about what’s happening in the world at Current Events discussion every first and third Tuesday of the month at 4 PM, hosted by Jordan Arehart. Come out and let’s talk about it!
Tech Tuesdays
Every Tuesday is Tech Tuesday at Elwood Public Library! Come see what we have to offer – You can create your own video game, learn about snap circuits, code & play with our robots & code-a-pillar, build a maze & see if you can get Sphero through it, or have an adventure or play a game with our Playstation Virtual Reality. We have something for everyone!

Mystery Book Club
This club meets the second Monday of each month, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. We invite you to check out the current month’s mystery book and crack the case with us.
Watercolor Painting Class
Artist Jan Roland gives painting classes every 2nd Thursday of the month from 1:00-3:00 PM. There is a $15 fee to cover the cost of supplies. Call to sign up!
Beginning Genealogy Class
The Elwood Public Library will be hosting the Genealogy Basics and Beyond class once a month on the third Thursday.
The Write Idea
This inspiring class is led by Mary Hofer and is full of great instruction, fresh writing ideas, and lots of encouragement. We welcome you to visit and if you enjoy it, join our group! We meet every second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 3:30pm.
Community Parkview Care Center
Residents at the center enjoy being read to and making simple crafts. Our Outreach clerk visits every third Thursday at 2:30pm
